Our Mission: To provide superb Fire and EMS coverage and education to our community, as well as surrounding communities; with the upmost diligence and professionalism.
The Stone Bank Fire Department was founded in 1907 and has served the community since. We are a private, non-profit, 501(c)3 corporation and are contracted by the Towns of Oconomowoc, Merton, and Ashippun to provide fire, rescue, and EMS services to town residents in our response area. We currently have two full-time employees that are both certified firefighters and Advanced Level EMTs on staff during the daytime hours. Our paid on-call members provide coverage on assigned EMS crews during other times of the day and night. All crews have an Advanced Level EMT to provide an elevated level of patient care. Our firefighters are paid on-call and provide fire suppression and rescue services.
Depending on the nature and severity of the call we receive, neighboring departments may also be automatically dispatched through the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS). This allows for quicker deployment of more equipment and personnel for larger incidents.
